Apr 22 2010 - This is only a minor complaint. The class was very good, but I felt there was too much information in the time alloted. Although the instructor knows the subject by rote, for those of us who are new to all this, it would have been better to have been spread out over two sessions at a slower pace. This, of course, might have been impractical due to the budget of Adult Ed ; but I would have been willing to part with some money if it could have been scheduled in this manner.

May 13 2008 - This is an excellent class, full of very useful information, presented well by an experienced, well-informed instructor. The class was offered in a 1-day format, 9 am to 4 pm. It is a lot of material to cover in that time frame, and due to the number of questions from students, it was clear that the instructor was not able to cover all the material she intended to, which is unfortunate. Still and excellent class and worth the time spent. I would recommend it highly.

Class and teaching should start on time. It was not obvious to me from the class description that the class would ONLY cover ebay. I thought some time would be spent on other buy/sell sites and on buying and selling processes and methodology in general. Instructor was very knowledgable regarding ebay.

I do not think that this was any fault of the instructor. I am planning on taking the next class up available from this same instructor. She seems to be knowledgable enough about the content... and a good communicator.

Sep 18 2007 - Way too much personal "filler". The 9am to 4pm class did not get started until 10am. All 29 people stated at the beginning of the class that they were interested in selling on ebay. She spent until 3pm on "buying", then did not get to show us how to list our items until 3pm. After a frustrating 6 hours, I finally just left.

It would be interesting to have a subsequent class where we "improved" a student's existing store and the next week watch sales increase following implementation of our suggestions. It would be a real "hands-on" applicable to the problems of other students.

May 24 2006 - Everthing was great except the print in the workbook was too small.
May 24 2006 - Only complaint — the print on most pages of the workbook is way too small to be readable. Good thing that the slides were readable in class, but that doesn't help once I get the book home.
May 23 2006 - Loni is very knowledgeable about E-bay. She effectively went beyond the book, "The Basics of Selling on eBay," by using live examples direct from eBay as well as personal experience. I look foward to taking an advanced eBay class with Loni.

Apr 23 2006 - I believe that at least 1/2 of the class was held-back from getting to a level of comfort on subject of selling because there were so many people who had no experience whatsoever on eBay; some without computer experience. This class should have been divided with familiarity of eBay as a buyer as a prerequisite for the selling class. Much of the "practice" and written matter specific for sellers was skipped due to this slowdown. As a buyer for over 2 years who is now interested in selling, I felt a little cheated. The instructor seemed knowledgeable with personal experience, but was distracted by those who had no basic knowledge & personal stories about live eBay and power sellers not necessary to the class. Explanation of terminology and overview was a little weak.
Apr 23 2006 - Great course, learned alot. Only downside was in the text book. Some of the diagram had print that was very hard to read. Very small print needed a magnifying glass to read.

Mar 2 2006 - More time should have been spent on selling as opposed to buying. Also, more time should have been spent on how to do a listing. Doing several pretend listings would have been extremly helpful. Overall the class was very good.
Feb 25 2006 - The instructor needed better equipment and needed to know shortcut keys instead of using the remote wireless that was provided. It made the presentation very slow.

Jan 26 2006 - Overall I would strongly recommend anyone new to eBay to take the class. Howe ever, I do believe that the materials provided by eBay to the instructor leave a lot to be desired. There is way too much rah-rah eBay and not enough meat. eBay is using the class, via their instructional materials, to advertise eBay instead of teaching the nuts'n bolts of eBay. By the time a person decides to take an eBay class I don't think they need that sort of commercial. They need tools to make it work. Looking forward to the advanced class.

Nov 6 2005 - Ms. Lani Wolff conducted an excellent class. Her presentation was organized and delivered at a pace that allowed you to digest the information while moving along so as to keep you focused on the presentation. Initially, I thought that an all day class would be very tedious. I found that the day went by very quickly. I think this was due to the fact that Lani entertained all of our questions and answered them clearly. My only cunstructive criticism regards the student guide. I thought the guide was very organized and clearly presented. However, the figures and examples taken directly from the e-bay site were too small; they should be larger, They contain a lot of useful info, but I will have to refer back to ebay to review these references.
Nov 1 2005 - Ms. Wolff is clear, congenial, helpful and experienced, but the course would benefit by skipping chapter one (those historyinterested in history/econ can read it at home)and hitting chapter two at a run to allow more time for the "nitty gritty" covered in later chapters. Aside for recommendations of inclusion and size, photography should be covered last. Many students will rely on others for that aspect while the remainding units apply to all.

I was glad to learn especially the photography and shipping tips, and how to write a good description. Instructor had great examples of what to do and not to do!! Sep 25 2005 - I am sorry to leave a negative review, I always prefer to be positive, but Lani Wolff was a poor, boring and ill-equipped instructor. In fact, even Ms. Wolff joked/requested that her students not mention on the evaluation that she nearly put us to sleep. Unfortunately, spending an entire day trying to learn under those circumstatces, just isn't funny. Let will give one concrete (and verifiable) example of the instructor's skill: periodically in class, Ms. Wolff would play educational videos from the ebay site. I cannot say exactly what was the content of those videos, because only those individuals sitting in the seats adjacent to Ms. Wolff could hear. You see, she had no way of amplifying the audio so the majority of the 42 students could hear. So, we sat for periods of time watching, not hearing educational videos, with Ms. Wolff sometimes commenting on what we should have heard!!! Please, we do need a qualified person to teach this class in the Santa Barbara area. This class, I understand the first in our area, had 42 enrolled students, plus countless who were turned away. Unfortunately, other stundents with whom I spoke were afraid if they wrote an honest, yet unflattering, evaluation, we would have no one to teach this class or the (greatly anticipated) class on setting up an ebay store. Please, could you find us a more knowledgeable, effective and prepared instructor? Thank you, Ingrid Brown and Michael Brown

While I have been working on Ebay for 3 years now I found that I had a lot to learn. I came away from this class with ample knowledge to use Ebay as a second business. Thank You.
