| Feb 5 2009 - Regardless of past practice/attempts by eBay staff:A) This class should be taught in an internet connected computer lab. With planning and practice, the instructor just asks the students to turn off the monitor when he/she wants students to watch/listen directly to the instructor. Another technique to keep the students on task would be to teach from the rear of the lab to see all the monitors being used.
B) Watching a blurry projection screen every week is unacceptable, both for the instructor and the students. Get the college to figure it out or buy a new projector on eBay! I have taught classes at LCCC and the tech boys have always helped me out when needed. My wife still teaches at LCCC and has never had an issue with tech help.

Almost all of the class was 60* years old, and I bet most of us needed a little boost in volume. I would also like to have had the page numbers for the book so that when he was showing us a slide we could have been able to reference it in the book. Since folks learn in different ways, that would have been a true plus to be able to coordinate the book/slides. It would have been extremely helpful if the college would have given him an internet hookup for the class. Some things that were discussed could have been so much better visualized in this way. For example: when Mr. Walters spoke of "set up" in the tool bar, no one knew where to find it. He very clearly stated that it was at the top of each page, but when you aren't familiar with the ebay set up, it is very hard to understand. An internet hook up would have been wonderful at this time! Perhaps in the future, ebay could run some interference with the college to get this internet hook up. And finally, I would suggest that in the future it would be very nice if the textbooks could be available at the very first lesson. Since we only have a segment of 3, we loose a lot by not being able to go home and review using the text, what was presented in class and thus come prepared to the next one with our questions. I sincerely thank all concerned for the opportunity of taking this class. I especially thank Mr. Walters for his fine and professional manner. |

Apparently our classroom was not set up for the internet. Powerpoint slides of the pages in the book were redundant. Our instructor, however, was knowledgeable and helpful with the material that he was able to present. |
