My world before eBay was in retail sales and management, prior to becoming an online entrepreneur. My initial business venture was in the early 1970's with an antique furniture restoration business, which later evolved into a bricks & mortar antiques store "Grandpa's Trading Company", for the next 20 years. Traveled the country doing antiques shows for 10 of those 20 years. Began selling on eBay in 1997, when I replaced some of my antiques shows with eBay. Now, have sold the antiques store and continue with my eBay store, Grandpa's Trading Company, and my eBay auctions.
