Instructional Designer with Immersive Learning Experience

Job description

American Research Institute, Inc. is currently seeking an instructional design candidate with significant experience in developing in adult immersive learning, designing in serious gaming for learning outcomes and simulation based training programs. Candidate should have strong background in instructional design theories and practices; however experience should be rich in developing serious game or scenario based eLearning product.

 

Qualifications

A strong knowledge of instructional design principles and practices to include adult learning theories, interactive training design, e-learning design principles, distance learning, self-paced instruction, evaluation methods, Human Performance Technology processes, and Electronic Performance Support Systems; knowledge of training design characteristics and the ability to design training, including defining training objectives, developing a plan of instruction, and establishing learning principles; knowledge of learning outcomes (e.g., cognitive, skill, affective) and the ability to incorporate learning outcomes into training design and development; excellent writing and communication skills; high energy and self-motivation; and ability to edit documents, reports, presentations, and other documents for grammar, spelling, style, layout, flow, etc.

Desired Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office software skills, including PowerPoint, Access, and Excel; experience in designing and developing learning content in accordance with the Society for Technical Communications (STC) methodology for training documents, including writing style, formatting, graphic design, and layout; utilize and maintain consistency of the design and development process with a performance-based methodology.
